Sundried tomatoes are a delicious aperitif from Southern Italy.
San Marzano tomatoes are cultivated in a completely biological way and naturally dried under the hot Calabrian sun. Once dried, they are preserved in glass jars and thoroughly coated with oil, garlic and spices in order to develop a richer flavour. They can be eaten alone, as an appetizer or used to enrich other dishes like cheeses, meat, breads, sandwiches or to dress fresh salads.
